Four years after a previous plan for the site was abandoned, a hillside property with a history of taller development proposals is being pitched for something shorter at the eastern end of Tobacco Row.

Local developer Jeremy Connell is under contract to purchase the 0.3-acre site at 2723 E. Cary St., where his Pareto LLC is planning a 47-unit apartment building with structured parking that would rise five stories on the Cary Street side, and seven stories on the lower-elevation side facing Dock Street and the river.

A Rockville-based developer is proposing an all-affordable-unit apartment building for a site that would assemble 713, 715 and 719 Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring. This is across the street from The Corona apartments. The proposed building would house up to 102 apartments, an approximately 1535 square foot community outreach center, and private underground parking. It is currently described as the “Sligo Apartments,” but that will likely change, given that an existing building in Takoma Park is already marketed under that branding.

A friend with a reasonably good eye asked me recently about the impressive looking, just completed residence at North Lombardy and West Grace streets in the Fan District. I considered his inquiry a compliment to the street appeal of this 108-unit rental building.

A cluster of new townhomes set to push up the price point in North Church Hill is beginning to take shape.

Neighbors in recent weeks have watched as a crane truck placed pre-cast foundations for the Williams Townes, a project by builder Bill Pangburn and developer Walid Daniel that is adding two pairs of attached single-family houses at the northwest corner of 32nd and N streets.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Permits have been approved for a downtown Richmond apartment complex called, “Centennial Terrace”, which will be targeted to young professionals.
The building will be a six-story building with 53 luxurious units in the Central Business District of the city.

Goodstein Development Corp. will start construction on the property, which will fill in a notable gap on East Main Street.
